Summary:

SEA SAFETY ADVISORY ALERT:  Rough sea with significant wave heights of (3.0m) and strong winds of (35km/h) will persist over The Gambia territorial waters.

Wave heights will continue to be rough particularly over offshore area. These conditions will persist until tomorrow 1600UTC Monday, 24th February, 2025.                         

 Fishermen and other users at the sea are still advice to observe maximum sea safety regulations at all fishing landing sites during the period.

INSHORE WATERS- 1 & 2: Up to 20 Nautical miles (37km) inside the Sea

Winds: Will vary between north and northeasterly flow with speed ranging from 10 - 26 km/h.

Wave Height:  will be 2.0–2.5 meters high.

Sea State:   Moderate to Rough, becoming moderate tomorrow in the afternoon and evening hours.

Weather: strong winds and dusty atmosphere

Visibility: Moderate

OFFSHORE WATERS- 1 & 2: From 20 up to 200 Nautical Miles (37km - 370km) into the high Sea

Winds: Will be mainly northeasterly flow with speed ranging from 16 - 35 km/h.

Wave Height:  Will be 2.5 – 3.0 meters high.

Sea State: Moderate to Rough, becoming moderate tomorrow in the afternoon and evening hours.

Weather: Strong winds and dusty atmosphere

Visibility: Moderate
